The official on-track activities for P1Software’s customers in IMSA and SRO Motorsports Group America are over and champions have been crowned. We sincerely thank you, our customers, for trusting us to support your racing efforts. We appreciate your insights, friendships, and allowing us to learn and be part of your teams.
Our success can be measured by the successes of our customers. This year teams using P1Software have won 6 team championships as well as drivers championship:

International Motor Sports Association
We continued suppporting our long-time IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Michelin Pilot Challenge, VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, and Lamborghini Super Trofeo customers.
With 40 race podiums (P1 – 15, P2 – 12, P3 – 13) among our 2023 IMSA customers, we give special congratulations to these IMSA champions:
- IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD, GTD Sprint – Paul Miller Racing
- IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge GS – Turner Motorsport
SRO Motorsports America
Our 2023 SRO customers stood on the podium 142 times (P1 – 43, P2 – 55, P3 – 44) and captured these SRO championships:
- SRO GT4 America Silver – Auto Technic Racing
- SRO GT4 America Am – BimmerWorld Racing
- SRO TC America TCX – Rooster Hall Racing
Ahead of 2023, SRO switched timing and scoring vendors from TSL to USAC. Since the 2022 Indy 8 Hour race, we worked closely with USAC to not only engineer P1TS to use their timing and scoring feed, but also to advise them on aspects of the base MyLaps protocol as well as USAC’s custom extensions.
- Since the initial NOLA and St. Petersburg events, we delivered to our customers a P1TS software as a service that is superior and easier to use than those of other software vendors. We quickly adapted to early anomalies and changes to the USAC data feed, usually on the same day, giving our customers the best information and insights.
- Late in 2023, teams sampled and gave very positive feedback on our early prototypes of P1Analysis interactive reports for SRO. Drivers, coaches, and engineers found our Speed Traces useful for understanding performance differences among cars.
2024 Expectations
While the 2023 season is over and we seem quiet, we’ve been full time experimenting and developing software ahead of 2024, our 10th year, incorporating ideas learned from our customers. Here’s what you might expect:
- Although like everyone, our expenses have increased, our P1TS and P1Analysis.com pricings are unchanged. Let us know and we can invoice you now to get on your 2023 or 2024 books.
- Early work on a new Microsoft Excel integration feature is progressing nicely. It will allow engineers and teams to seamlessly integrate live data into their private spreadsheets and calculations. MATLAB users can continue using the more general p1ts-csv Windows application.
- Look for more P1TS for SRO features that take advantage of the richer GPS data that USAC provides.
- As we fill out P1Analysis for SRO for a mid-2024 release, we’ll also be integrating some of its newer technologies into the existing IMSA product.
- As always, we we’re here to help. We can schedule web or phone conferences to get crew up to speed before you head for the track or to discuss any data related questions.
See you at the track in 2024!
